Horse hacking

During our 1 and 2 hour rides we ride in the countryside surrounding CHRANI to experience the peace and tranquility of Messinias nature. The choice is yours - we can enjoy a relaxed ride or for the more experienced rider we can canter through the mountains.

Children without experience are always led by hand for absolute safety. A professional guide always accompanies each hack.




	Breakfast in Lefka Ride with us up the Likodimo mountain to the ruined village of Lefka. There we can savour the special atmosphere and the breathtaking view, while eating a typical Greek farmers breakfast with cheese and olives. Duration 4 hours riding for 3 hours


	Explore on horseback Discover with us the unique mountain villages, hidden paths, olive groves and the rough and wild landscape of Messinia with its breathtaking views. Mount your horse and let us choose a destination:

Discovering Vigla

How did the Greek rural population live 50 years ago? Why are so many Greek villages in ruins?

Walking through the ruined village of Vigla you will experience real history. Our horses carry young and elder discoverers to Vigla with its abandoned farm houses, patios and the big church. We can refresh ourselves at the fountain.

Duration 3 hours riding for 2 hours

Moonlit ride through the mountains

Riding through the night on our safe horses by the light of the moon whose magical effect over the mountain landscape you will never forget!

This ride takes place in the days before full moon.

			Beginners introduction to hacking out Do you want to discover the local hillsides from a horses back? No problem – also for absolute beginners! Make friends with our kind horses before we begin the hack. Theoretical introductions and some exercises on our wooden horse Pegasus will help you to sit in a relaxed and balanced way and to be comfortable with your real horse and he with you! After a few circles in the arena – now on real horses – we set off for your first hack out in the mountains. This will make your first hack a wonderful and unforgettable experience. Duration 2 hours riding for 1 hour



	Riding available for the youngest children (from 4 years) Probably even your youngest child will want to have a go! Held safely by a head collar our ponies will walk carefully around the arena with their small riders. After their first ride most children would like to take their pony with them! Duration ½ hour


	Riding week covering all aspects of horsemanship Handling, brushing and grooming, tacking-up, riding, - to cut a long story short – to learn and enjoy taking part in every aspect of horsemanship. This is possible during our week long experiencing horses course. For 5 days we spend 2-3 hours a day with our four-legged friends, and you, as participant, can chose which activities you would like to concentrate on.

Riding lessons

The riding lessons, which start at a basic level, will teach you a safe and relaxed way of riding, both inside the arena and outside in the countryside. We ride in the English style.

In the first lesson you will learn how to make contact with horses in a friendly way whilst brushing and tacking-up. We progress in small steps so that you can enjoy horse riding from your very first lesson.

A well balanced and relaxed position in the saddle from the start is important for your future comfort and safety. Lessons are always interesting because of the differing characters and abilities of our horses. Teaching activities on our wooden horse PEGASUS and fun-and-games complete your lesson.

Duration 1 hour including tacking-up and un-tacking the horse


	Vaulting - gymnastics on horseback Horse riding – in a different style – sitting sideways, backwards or two children together. Kneeling, standing… Horse riding as you would see at the circus!

Vaulting particularly improves your balance and your confidence in the horse. We offer it for children from 4-12 years old as a first experience of horse-riding or as part of a riding lesson. Vaulting is more fun if a few children participate together.

Duration 1 hour including tacking-up and un-tacking the horse
